Harvinainen keuhkosairaus pysäytti Norjan kruununprinsessa Mette-Maritin

Norjan kuninkaallinen hovi tiedotti keskiviikkona, että maan kruununprinsessa Mette-Marit kärsii kroonisesta keuhkosairaudesta.

Sairaus saattaa vaikuttaa hänen kykyynsä hoitaa edustustehtäviä, joten kruununprinsessa on välittömästi luopunut isosta osasta kaikkia virallisia tehtäviään.

#BREAKINGNEWS Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Mette-Marit has been diagnosed with a chronic lung disease that could limit the exercise of her official program. The Crown Princess has undergone extensive investigations related to her health and there is evidence of an unusual variant of fibrosis in the lungs, according to the Crown Princess' doctor, Professor Kristian Bjøro at the National Hospital in Oslo. It is not yet clear whether the pulmonary disease is linked to a more extensive autoimmune disease process, or whether there are other causes that underlie lung changes. “For a number of years, I have had health challenges on a regular basis, and now we know more about what these are in. The condition means that the working capacity will vary. The Crown Prince and I choose to inform about this now, partly because in future there will be a need to plan periods of time without official program. In connection with the treatment and when the disease is more active, this will be necessary,” says the Crown Princess. Professor Bjøro informs that lung changes have already been followed for several years, and the disease development in this period has been slow. Investigation and treatment of it is taking place at the Rikshospitalet in Oslo in cooperation with medical professionals abroad. "The Crown Princess will have to undergo further investigation in the future with also treatment trials. In such conditions as the Crown Princess has, it is common for us to cooperate with environments abroad,” says Bjøro. He further states that the reason for the type of fibrosis the Crown Princess has shown is known to a small extent, but there is broad consensus that it is not related to environmental or lifestyle factors as is the case with other more common types of pulmonary fibrosis. The fact that the disease is detected in an early stage, is beneficial in terms of prognosis. “Even if such a diagnosis will limit my life in times, I am glad that the disease has been discovered so early. My goal is still to work and participate in the official program as much as possible,” says the Crown Princess. I hope all the best for her! God bedring! ?

Pariskunnalla on kaksi yhteistä lasta.

As I've seen some blogs speculating about Crown Princess Mette-Marit's life expectancy, I've decided to post some important things to know about Crown Princess Mette-Marit’s health. This text is not created by me but all thanks go to drottningsilvia on tumblr. But I wholeheartedly stand by it! I don't quite care if I get hate because of everything written down there, but those things need to be said and even though this doesn't imply on anyone in specific, I want you all to read it and remember it. Thank you ❤ It’s very sad to hear that she’s been diagnosed with chronic pulmonary fibrosis (progressive scarring of the lungs) but please remember a few things. Respect the family’s privacy and don’t reblog or share any pap/candid photos that show her going to the hospital/receiving treatment/etc. Remember when people were reblogging photos of the Danish Royal Family going to the hospital to visit Prince Consort Henrik? Yeah, don’t do that again guys. Don’t spread rumors about hospital visits, treatment, prognosis, etc. If the royal family wants us to know, then they’ll post something. Don’t speculate on her prognosis or life span. She has access to the best doctors and healthcare in the world. She also has a very supportive family that will help her through anything that comes her way. Respect that changes are coming. Mette-Marit’s health is the most important thing! She may not be able to do as much as she used to do. Other changes include changes to her appearance because of stress, medication, and/or treatments. Take the time to educate yourself. If you don’t know what pulmonary fibrosis is, maybe you should learn more about it so you can understand what she is going through. But don’t panic over all this! Like I said before, the royal family has plenty of money and resources to provide MM with the best care. For more information and resources on pulmonary fibrosis from the British Lung Foundation go and click on the link on my account. And if you've come reading it to the end, I would like you to with that keep in mind that this is (I'm quite sure) not only hard on Mette-Marit but also on her family so please, really do respect their privacy.
